The Church Council at Zion Lutheran Church stands as the embodiment of our congregation’s collective leadership and stewardship, entrusted with the sacred responsibility to guide our community in accordance with the teachings of the Lutheran faith. They work in concert to discern God’s will for our congregation, oversee the church’s ministries, and ensure that our mission and values are reflected in all our endeavors. The council’s unwavering devotion to spiritual oversight and administrative governance is crucial in shepherding our community as we walk in faith and serve with love.
The purpose of the Stewardship Committee at Zion Lutheran Church is to promote responsible stewardship of the resources of the church, including financial, physical, and human resources (time, talent, and treasure).
The Committee is responsible for educating the congregation about the importance of stewardship and the role they can play in supporting the church’s mission. The Committee works to cultivate a culture of generosity and stewardship among the members of the church and helps to ensure that the resources of the church are used effectively and efficiently to support its mission.
The goal of the Stewardship Committee is to support the mission and vision of Zion Lutheran Church and ensure its long-term sustainability.
The purpose of the Evangelism and Outreach Committee at Zion
Lutheran Church is to actively engage in spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ and building relationships with those in the community. The Committee’s focus is on reaching out to those who are not currently connected with the church, welcoming them into the community, and helping them grow in their relationship with God.
The Committee works to identify opportunities for evangelism and outreach, plan and coordinate events and activities that promote the church’s mission, and educate and equip members to share their faith in meaningful ways.
The goal of the Evangelism and Outreach Committee is to help grow the church by reaching out to those who are not yet connected with it and inviting them to become a part of its community.
The purpose of the Education Committee at Zion Lutheran Church is to
promote spiritual growth and learning among its members and to provide opportunities for all ages to deepen their faith and understanding of God’s word.
The Committee works to design and implement educational programs, resources, and events that engage and challenge members of all ages, from children to adults. This includes Sunday School classes, youth programs, Confirmation, Bible studies, and adult education classes.
The Committee also works to identify the spiritual needs and interests of the congregation and to provide resources and support for members to meet those needs.
The goal of the Education Committee is to support the spiritual formation and growth of members of Zion Lutheran Church and to equip them to live out their faith in the world.
The purpose of the Property and Grounds Committee at Zion Lutheran Church
is to maintain, improve, and care for the physical properties and grounds of the church. This includes ensuring the safety, appearance, and functionality of the building, grounds, furnishings, and equipment.
The Committee works to develop and implement plans for the maintenance, improvement, and beautification of the church’s facilities and grounds, taking into consideration the needs and interests of the congregation, budget considerations, and safety concerns. The Committee also works to ensure that the properties are used effectively and efficiently to support the mission of the church.
The goal of the Property and Grounds Committee is to provide a safe, attractive, and functional physical environment that supports the worship and ministry of Zion Lutheran Church and enhances its mission in the community.
The purpose of the Finance Committee at Zion Lutheran Church is to provide financial
oversight and management for the church. This includes developing and monitoring the annual budget, ensuring the responsible use of financial resources, and making recommendations to the church council regarding financial matters.
The Committee works to ensure that the church’s financial resources are being used in accordance with its mission and values, and to provide regular financial reports to the congregation. The committee also works with the Stewardship Committee about stewardship and the role they can play in supporting the church through their giving.
The goal of the Finance Committee is to provide responsible financial management for Zion Lutheran Church and to support its mission by ensuring the effective use of its financial resources.
The purpose of the Worship and Music Committee at Zion Lutheran Church is
to work with the minister and music director to plan, coordinate, and evaluate the worship services of the church.
The Committee works to ensure that worship services are meaningful, engaging, and inclusive, and that the musical offerings are of the highest quality. The Committee also works to identify and address the worship needs and preferences of the congregation, and to provide opportunities for members to use their musical gifts in worship.
The goal of the Worship and Music Committee is to create worship services that deepen the faith of members and enhance the mission of Zion Lutheran Church, and to provide opportunities for members to use their musical gifts to support and glorify God.
Within the Church Council of Zion Lutheran Church, the Executive Committee is the central pillar of leadership, comprising the roles filled by the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Each officer brings a unique set of skills and a shared vision of faith and service to their position. The President leads with foresight and compassion, steering the congregation towards spiritual growth and fellowship. The Vice President serves as a supportive pillar, ready to step in when needed. The Secretary records the actions and inspirations of the council, ensuring transparency and continuity. The Treasurer oversees the church’s financial health, upholding our commitment to ethical and responsible management of resources.

MISSION – Growth: To provide a variety of learning experiences which strengthen each woman as a whole person, develop her potential and equip her for ministry.
MISSION – Community: To enable each woman to value herself and others as created in God’s image and redeemed through Christ and to build up and celebrate relationships which are global, diverse, and interdependent.
